Yvonne has been a Committee Member of The Sunshine Foundation since 2006 and has served as Chair since 2019. She is a Deputy Head of Education at a specialist school for children with autism and brings over 25 years of professional experience in special education.
She joined the charity after teaching the founder's son and has remained deeply committed to improving the education and life opportunities of children with special needs. Yvonne brings specialist knowledge of special education to the organisation and leads a number of the charity's fundraising initiatives, including the annual Black History Month Quiz and the Sunshine Showcase events. SASSE is located in Grenville, the birthplace of her mother, making the charity's work particularly meaningful to her.
